Anonymous asked: Do you have any Jotun Loki that you could show maybe?
Hmm, like clothing. I can try although I’m never entirely sure of the best way to cope with non-human skin tones.
Jotun Loki is just the most fascinating fandom phenomenon really though. The film gave us these two tiny parts of scenes of Jotun!Loki (and ones with less than fantastic cgi/make-up at that) and it’s completely captured the imagination of the fandom who just make the most beautiful images of it ever (linking as I don’t want to repost and some pictures might be nsfw).
Now fandom Jotun!Loki tends to be swathed in furs and gold. Which I can see the reasoning behind both. The first for practicability since it’s quite possible Loki’s smaller size means unlike the other Jotun he does need to be kept warm. Whereas the gold and jewellery fits with the characters vanity and need to prove his station amongst the much larger Jotnar.
Now the film Jotnar are a slightly different kettle of fish. Firstly I love how the fandom has developed them from the brutish monster race the movie narrative presents them as.
That said, there are, some rather interesting costuming choices for the Jotnar.
Now the film isn’t brilliantly well lit in the Jotunheim scenes but
Now, the armouring of the joints is clearly supposed to bring a marital sense to the outfit (armour without actual armour) and the lack of clothing+loincloth shows how well adapted they are to Jotunheim (as well as bringing up some rather nasty implications to do with what “civilised” is…) but it seems as pointed out here that Loki wears Jotun Green. As well as having that interesting square scale pattern in his clothing as well.
…anyway I’ve probably rambled on a tad here so I’ll put what I’ve come up with in a different post, if that’s ok?
